Elegantly plated private dining course served at a table

Kent is a planned journey rather than a local hop for us, and we cook there regularly because the occasions suit it. From Bishops Stortford it is roughly an hour and a half via the M25 and the Dartford Crossing, so we arrive earlier in the day, set up calmly and build the timings around that travel rather than squeezing it.

The houses are a large part of the appeal. Oast houses, converted barns and period farmhouses around Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells, Cranbrook, Tenterden, Canterbury and the Weald give beautiful rooms to serve in, often with generous tables and outdoor space that suits a live fire course or a canapé reception before everyone sits down.

Kent also produces superbly. English sparkling wine from the county's vineyards, Romney Marsh lamb, Kentish apples, cobnuts and the coast at Whitstable and Rye Bay all find their way onto menus here — we build the evening around what the county does well, and around any bottles you already want to pour.

Because the drive is longer, Kent bookings tend to be a little larger or a little more of an occasion: significant birthdays, anniversary weekends, holiday-let gatherings and family celebrations where a full evening of service is worth planning properly. Minimum six guests, comfortably up to around 100 depending on the venue.

Why book us in Kent

Kent questions, answered

How far into Kent will you travel?

Anywhere in the county. We cook most often in west and mid Kent — Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells, Cranbrook, Tenterden and the Weald — and travel to Canterbury, the coast and east Kent for larger bookings.

Is travel charged for Kent bookings?

Kent is around an hour and a half from our base, so any travel or overnight consideration is included openly in your quotation before you commit. There are never surprise costs added afterwards.

Can you cook around Kentish wine and produce?

Gladly. Menus can be built around English sparkling wine from Kent vineyards, Romney Marsh lamb, local apples, cobnuts and fish from the Kent coast — including pairing courses to bottles you already have.

We are renting a house in Kent for the weekend. Does that work?

Yes, and it is one of our most common Kent bookings. We just need the address, a rough idea of the kitchen and confirmation that the owner is happy for caterers to cook there.

Serving Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent, The Cotswolds and further afield for larger events. More practical detail is on our FAQs, or see the full range of private catering services.

Closer to home, we also cook professional private dining in Hertfordshire.

Private catering is enquiry only — we quote every event individually. Every field is optional; just leave us an email address or telephone number and we will be in touch.

Festive availability

We are fully committed for 24th–26th December 2026 and New Year. These dates are usually confirmed by March/April, so we are unable to take further 2026 festive bookings — if you are planning Christmas or New Year 2027, please do get in touch now.

Amy personally lives with a nut allergy, so careful planning around allergies matters to us. Please share full details so James and Amy can discuss what can safely and practically be accommodated. Although every reasonable precaution is taken, food is prepared in environments where allergens may be present, so a completely allergen-free environment cannot be guaranteed.
